At Tailcloset, we want you and your pet to be happy with every purchase. If something isn't quite right, this page walks you through exactly how returns and refunds work.
Return Eligibility Window
We accept returns within 30 days of the delivery date. This applies both to items you've simply changed your mind about (buyer's remorse) and to items that arrive defective or damaged.
During major holiday shopping periods (for example, the winter holiday season), we may extend this return window. If an extension is in effect, it will be announced separately on our website or communicated at checkout.
Condition Requirements
To qualify for a return, items must be in their original, unused condition, including:
- All original tags still attached
- Original packaging intact
- No visible signs of wear, washing, staining, odor, pet hair/fur, or chew/scratch marks
Items that don't meet these conditions may not be eligible for a refund.
What Can Be Returned
- Non-defective items (buyer's remorse) — as long as condition requirements above are met
- Defective or damaged items — items that arrived with a manufacturing defect or were damaged during shipping
Items That Cannot Be Returned
Because of the nature of pet apparel, the following are not eligible for return:
- Items showing signs of pet use, wear, washing, or damage
- Items missing original tags or packaging
- Items purchased as final sale (if applicable)
We do not currently offer any customized or made-to-order products, so all items sold are eligible under the standard policy above unless listed as an exception.
Who Pays Return Shipping
- Defective or damaged items: Tailcloset covers the return shipping cost.
- Non-defective returns (buyer's remorse): The customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
There is no restocking fee or handling fee charged on any return, regardless of the reason.
How to Start a Return
- Email our customer service team at service@tailcloset.com with your order number and the reason for your return.
- Our team will confirm your return eligibility and provide you with return instructions within 1–2 business days.
- For defective or damaged items, we'll provide a prepaid return shipping label or reimburse your shipping cost. For non-defective returns, please arrange your own shipping to send the item back to us.
- Pack the item securely with all original tags and packaging, and ship it to the address below.
Please note: we are not able to accept walk-in or phone-only return requests — all returns must be initiated by email so we can properly track your order.

All returns must be sent to our U.S. warehouse address below. Please do not send returns to any other address, including our factory address, as this will delay processing.

Return Processing Time
Once we receive your returned item, we process it within 3 calendar days. Processing includes inspecting the returned item to confirm it meets our condition requirements above.
Refund Timeline
Once your return is inspected and approved, refunds are issued to your original payment method within 3–5 business days. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take a few additional days for the refund to appear on your statement.
